01 / GUIDE
Choose the right kind of test
A system test checks the printing path from your computer. An online test sheet helps you compare visible color, text, and margins. A printer-generated diagnostic can check model-specific patterns without printing a document from your browser.
A downloaded PDF cannot read ink levels, align a printhead, or run a native nozzle check.

Print an online test or PDF
Use our test sheets when you want a consistent sample to compare before and after changing a print setting.
- Open a color or black-and-white test using the links on this page.
- Choose A4 or US Letter to match the paper loaded in the printer.
- Use the tool’s Print button, or download its PDF and open it in your PDF viewer.
- Select your physical printer. Use Actual size or 100% when checking margins and reference lengths.
- Print one copy and compare it with the preview. Keep paper and quality settings the same for a repeat test.
05 / GUIDE
Use the result to choose your next step
If a system test prints but an app does not, check that app’s selected printer, paper size, and file. If neither prints, investigate the connection or queue first. If output arrives with gaps, stripes, or missing colors, use your model’s maintenance guide.
Try the Epson or HP guide below for supported diagnostic examples. A visible defect alone does not identify a failed part.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Can I print a test page without installing anything?
You can open our test sheet in your browser and print it, provided your computer or device already has a working printer connection. The website does not install drivers.
Why did I get a PDF instead of a printed sheet?
The print dialog may be set to Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF. Choose your physical printer as the destination and try again.
Do I need to print every test?
No. Start with one sheet that matches the issue. Use a color test for missing colors, a text test for readability, or a margin test for cropping and scale.
